Highlights of PCCF’s activities
2008–2009

Indonesia

Persecuted Christians Care Fund provided a grant to an anonymous Christian leader in the Java highlands who shepherds a small group of about 60 adult believers plus children who are suffering because of their conversion.

Jordan

PCCF provided monthly financial support to a Christian leader in Jordan (whose identity must be protected due to threats of violence against him and his family). He travels extensively throughout the Middle East and North Africa holding meetings and providing financial and spiritual support to Christian Arabs who are being persecuted for their faith. In November 2008 he visited the largest church in Algeria, ministering to over 500 believers. In February 2009 he met with about 20 Muslim-background believers in Malta, then spent several days in Libya with over 200 Christian leaders at the union church in Tripoli. He then moved on to Juba, South Sudan, holding a leadership conference for 350 Christians working among refugees. During the year he also produced hundreds of hours of Christian programming for cable TV in Jordan.

Mexico

PCCF shipped a 40-ft sea container of assorted clothing and supplies to Iglesia Getzemani in Mexico City to benefit suffering children and families. Included were 20,000 lbs of baled clothing, 500 lbs of infant clothing and baby formula, and 440 lbs of hygiene items. The shipment had a total fair market value of $128,274.

Turkey

PCCF provided supplementary financial support to an American missionary serving in Turkey, who must remain anonymous because of personal safety and security concerns. She established a church in Izmir with 150 attendees, a Bible study fellowship of 15 in her home, and oversees a Christian retreat center and campground. There are only about 5,000 Christians among Turkey’s population of over 71,000,000, and last year “hostile media, government, and personal attacks on Turkish believers continued, some of which were violent,” she reports. “We have hired a legal team to defend victims in court, advocate for our rights, and promote legal changes. We also helped with some victims’ immediate needs.”

PCCF partnered with He Intends Victory of Irvine, California, in an antidiscrimination program to reduce social prejudice against people affected by HIV/AIDS. Through seminars, conferences, meetings in churches and schools, publications, radio and television interviews at least 1,000,000 people were educated on the subject in 18 states plus the District of Columbia.
